A Russian factory for producing UAVs may appear in Belarus.
Russia proposes to build a plant in Belarus for producing unmanned aerial systems with a capacity of up to 100 thousand units annually.
This became known at the exhibition of Russian drones in Minsk, visited by Aliaksandr Lukashenka on 6 March.
‘The issue is about creating the production of all key components. These are, of course, the issues of ensuring sovereignty. It is very important for Belarus to have its own production facilities, which would make not only the economy, but also the security sphere of the country truly sovereign. We're talking about using technological developments and solutions, which are available in Russia,' Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maksim Oreshkin told reporters.
According to Oreshkin, the Russian side proposes to build a factory within one year that will be able to produce up to 100,000 drones annually.
