Portnikov: Serious Rift Emerges Between Trump and Musk

Two heavyweights of American politics – Donald Trump and Elon Musk – will inevitably butt heads. The first rift between the US president and the billionaire has already arisen.
Ukrainian journalist and political commentator Vitaly Portnikov drew attention to this in his YouTube blog, Dialog.UA reports.
He noted that Trump was forced to seriously limit the powers of Elon Musk and his Department of Efficiency (DOGE).
The billionaire has lost the ability to make decisions about staff reductions and project closures. Now he can only provide consulting services.
"Trump has been literally bombarded with complaints from his own ministers, saying that Musk, with his amateurish activities, paralyzes the work of almost all departments of the United States. Trump is told this by senators and members of the House of Representatives, that Elon Musk's department is engaged in destabilizing activities. And, most importantly, there are no cost savings from the activities of this body [DOGE - ed.], created by Trump for Musk," said Portnikov.
According to him, Musk is still receiving serious bonuses from his connections with Trump. The other day it became known that the US Department of Commerce began reviewing the program to expand Internet access in remote and underdeveloped areas of the country.
Thanks to the innovation, Musk's SpaceX company will receive up to $20 billion out of the $42.5 billion allocated for the program.
The billionaire manages to successfully enrich himself thanks to close ties with the leader of the United States. However, there is every reason to believe that this friendship will not last long.
"Trump may have genuinely expected significant budget savings through Elon Musk's management initiatives. If he feels let down, he will cut ties with Musk. In turn, Musk will launch an all-out battle to take down Trump, and vice versa. We are already on the verge of this confrontation.
